Description

In his laboratory, Dr. Frankenstein is conducting tests on a corpse. After a few moments, the corpse is revived and cries out in pain. Frankenstein and his assistant Morpho (played by Franco) are murdered by Melisa, a bird/woman creation of the evil sorcerer Cagliostro. He intends to use the monster to create a new race of superhumans who will obey him. Dr. Vera Frankenstein, who is also working on the revival, is devastated to learn of her father’s death before he can reveal the secrets of his technique. She briefly revives him to learn that Cagliostro is responsible and that his monster is in Varga Castle. She heads in that direction but is captured by Cagliostro. Under his direction and with her help, he will select parts from the most desirable women to find a mate for the male monster. Vera will then bring it to life. Dr. Seward, a local doctor who is attracted to Vera, tries to rescue her. He doesn’t know she’s enchanted until he and an inspector witness the events at the castle.
